Public Records Requests

Before submitting a public records request check Meetings and Finances. Many of our records are posted there. If you don’t see what you are looking for, please submit a public records request:

The Idaho Public Records Act (Idaho Code Title 74, Chapter 1) (the “Public Records Act”) provides that all public records in Idaho are open at all reasonable times for inspection except as otherwise expressly provided by statute.

The Public Records Act allows the District three (3) working days from the date of receipt of the request to grant or deny the request. However, if it is determined by the District that a longer time is needed to retrieve or locate the requested information, the District will notify the requestor in writing that more time is needed, and will then grant or deny the request in whole or in part within ten (10) working days following the request.

There can be costs and fees associated with the gathering and reproducing of records. The requestor must pay the appropriate cost to the District before the records are distributed. If you have questions concerning the costs involved, please contact the District prior to submitting your request.

USING ANY LIST OF PERSONS PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT IN RESPONSE TO A PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST AS A MAILING LIST OR TELEPHONE LIST WITHOUT FIRST SECURING THE PERMISSION OF THOSE ON THE LIST IS PROHIBITED BY IDAHO CODE §74-120 AND PUNISHABLE BY A CIVIL PENALTY UP TO $1,000.
